March 8, 2022 - Alexa Arrives - Late Lunch and Sunset at the Beach

Alexa arrived from St. Louis on Monday evening. Tuesday we headed to Ybor City for a great meal at the Columbia Restaurant, open since 1905. The oldest Cuban restaurant in Tampa.

We didn't make reservations and arrived a little before one p.m. We quickly learned that the first available table would be 2:30 p.m. We made that reservation and walked down the street, got a drink at a bar, sat at a table on the sidewalk, and watched everyone pass by. Back at the Columbia we all ordered something different, and the food was once again outstanding.

After our late lunch we headed to Madeira Beach to watch the sunset. It wasn't crowded at all.

I enjoy pushing my feet down into the sand as I sit there. I don't know what it is but there is something soothing about it when the sand is not hot.

Alexa, Kelly, and Celina walked down the beach looking for shells. I just watched people walk by.

It was a beautiful evening but we didn't get to see the sunset due to clouds on the horizon. Here are some pictures of what we did get to see.

We are headed back to the beach on Wednesday before rain moves in for several days. I'm putting on my suit and hope to get in the water. Prior to this the water has been way too cold.
